U7 Lost the emp-whistle & the little planet-thingy

Both of those are lost and of course nowhere to be found. I played it carefully, but I've never even seen the whistle Trellek was supposed to give me. Is there any cheats to get them back or something? I can't talk to wisps without the whistle, so I'm doomed. Is the planet-thing necessary for finishing the game?

Please help me or the guardian will rule Britannia and we don't want that... or do we...
