does work in win7. but you need to install the game in a new directory on your hard disk, not the default as windows prevents you from making changes to stuff in the program files directory

Not only does it work, the game never started faster. Maybe all the transitions are faster, it seems like they are. I have the 2 cd version. For Win 7 just copy torment.exe to other folder and patch there. It will make a copy and append bak to the end of it. Disk maintenance software likes to erase bak files, old files, and some others, may as well delete it now, this file has been manipulated you don't want it anyway. Not that there is something wrong with it now, but there could be, so it is just safe practice. Rename the original torment.old.exe it will still be there if there are problems later, then copy the patched torment.exe into your game folder. Enjoy.
