Nokia announced it’s all new touchscreen device, the Nokia N97, it’s the first Nseries device with a touch screen “Finally!!”, the first Nseries device rocking a full QWERTY keyboard and most certainly THE smart phone of the year according to some custom written papers on gadgets.

Nokia designers went way generous when they planned the specs of this device, The N97 sports s 3.5″ widescreen LCD screen, a 5 Megapixel camera with dual LED flash, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, 3.5G HSDPA, 32GB internal memory with MicroSD support, anything, you name it, it’s there.

The N97 runs S60 V5 with it’s all new home screen incorporating widsets, putting everything on your eye reach, from weather to Facebook, which is different than the home screen of the 5800 Xpress Music that runs on the same OS, the whole OS is optimized for touch use, it also supports USB charging and N-Gage!

Battery life wise, the N97 battery promises 430 hours of stand by time, and approximately 7 hours of talk time, it can play music for up to 1.5 days non stop!, all thanks to the 1500 mAH battery!

I am all excited about this device for so many darn reasons, the 3.5″ kick-ass widescreen ensuring superb web browsing and the 0.7″ more screen area than any Nseries device ensures a wider surface to feast your eyes :) , not to mention the small yet functional slide-out QWERTY keyboard that makes it easy to write a text message or use the device for instant messaging.

This device is the jewel on the crown for Nokia, at least for 2009, for a lot of reasons, it’s a kick-ass MP3 Player with 32GB of onboard memory, it’s a kick-ass Navigation device with internal GPS chip and sporting Nokia Maps 3.0 “it adds 3D models”, it’s a kick-ass internet tablet with a full QWERTY keyboard, WiFi, 3.5G connection and a HUGE 3.5″ screen, it’s a kick-ass camera with a 5 Megapixel Carl Zeiss lens with dual LED flash, in short-words, it’s the ultimate all in one device, and it does all what it’s meant to do perfectly well.
